Open Covid Pledge
During the coronavirus lockdown, I joined a European team of creative activists who were part of the #FreeTheVaccine global movement. I created infographics to help explain some of our community actions across social media platforms. The core demand was to urge major institutions involved in publicly funded COVID-19 research, to sign up to the 'Open COVID Pledge', thereby sharing intellectual property, fairly pricing vaccines and technology, and waiving restrictive patenting practices. One such social media action, 'COVID Research Champions – Plants for COVID', involved planting/dedicating plants to a researcher and their institute, thanking them for their work, and making the request to them to sign up to the #OpenCOVIDPledge. Snapshots of individual actions were then loaded to social media and reposted.
